“Seasonal Espresso House Blend brings it home again!”
RASV – Australian International Coffee Awards 2016 (AICA)
Category: Cappuccino, Milk (blend) – SILVER WINNER
Following the success of last years BRONZE win (Milk Blend category, AICA 2015), owner-roaster Lachy Evans, has worked hard to perfect this already super tasty blend winning SILVER in this year’s Australian International Coffee Awards in amongst over 1,200 entrants. Moto Bean Coffee Roasters was one of only a few micro-batch roasters and regional roasters to win a silver or gold and they stood their ground against many well-known high profile roasters. A blend of 40% Honduras certified organic, 30% specialty Kenya, 30% specialty Ethiopia, the Seasonal Espresso House Blend boasts notes of blueberries, raw sugar, dark chocolate and a lime leaf acidity. “It is a very interesting coffee that suits all brew methods and people love it!” says, Lachy. And it is no wonder why, that’s the advantage that Lachy has: he is a roaster and a barista, working full time in his own café serving his own blends to his customers, giving him the edge in finding what people like first-hand. “I’m always striving to make our coffee better and better and next year I’m striving to be the first roaster in Central Victoria to win a gold medal.” You can find Lachy Thursday – Sunday at Moto Bean Coffee Roaters’ café in Malmsbury – he is always up for a chat about coffee!
