Black Cat Truffles is located on a beautiful 20 acre property in the Central Victorian Highlands overlooking the Creswick State Forest. Established on rich red volcanic soil and blessed with climatic conditions perfect for truffles to flourish, our 1,000 French and English oaks have now been producing high quality, black Perigord truffles for several years.
We sell fresh truffles to a number of high-end restaurants locally and around Victoria and also produce a range of quality truffle-infused products for foodies and truffle enthusiasts, both online and in our Farm Gate Cafe and shop. One of our most popular activities is our “Truffle Hunt & Taste of Truffles Experience” which take place during every weekend of our three month truffle season (June to August). Here people rug up, don their gum boots and join our truffle-foraging dogs to find a truffle in our truffiere, hear a talk about the fascinating science of truffle farming then move into the snug Cafe for a glass of bubbles and a selection of delicious truffle-based tastings.
The beauty of the oak orchard and gorgeous gardens which surround the homestead and Cafe (which is a stunning space in itself, with a fully operational licensed and commercial kitchen and capacity for 20 seated guests) also provide a wonderful and unique event venue and the perfect place for weddings and significant occasions of any kind. Our resident truffle dogs, Winston and Lottie, black cat, Kora and herd of six multi-coloured alpacas add to the personality and interest of Black Cat Truffles and provide it with that extra something when a very special venue is being sought for a very special gathering!
